Pancake day is right around the corner and as one of the most universally celebrated days in the Design Studio we decided to share with you some of our favourite master pieces.

No longer does the classic blueberry stack or american  flapjack impress any more. There are artists who have turned to using the humble crepe to express their talents and we are living for it!

The first of the fancy foodies is Nathan Shields. A stay at home dad who got creative in an attempt to get his children to eat their food.

Star Wars figures, Dinosaurs, and Santa’s reindeer’s are but just a few of the many creations he has constructed using just a pan, a spatula and some batter.

Check out his amazing blog to see more.

Up next is a Youtube account we can not stop watching. TigerTomato are a group of artists who create the most colourful pancakes in an array of styles.

Pokemon, Minecraft, Spongebob and even toilet signs! These guys have got you covered if you’re looking for some serious inspiration on Pancake Day. We will warn you though, although these guys make it look easy, it is far from the truth! Trust us, we tried.

Our final artist goes that step further and creates the most incredible 3D pancakes!

Know on his Youtube as ‘Civil Engineering with Pancakes’ but to us resembles the Golden Gate bridge of San Francisco, Jim shows what’s truly possible with this simple recipe and a lot of patience.

Don’t try this at home though as Jim warns of the ‘minor burns’ it took to create this wonderful peace. Do however check out his ‘Star Wars Edition’ AT-AT Walker!
