CIH Housing is the largest housing festival in Europe, attracting more than 750 of the sectors key leaders.

Fortem – one of the Design Studio’s longest running clients – sponsored the event for 2019 and as such required a range of banners to cover the venues external walls and internal stands. The Design Studio took this opportunity to visit the finished artwork in person.

Tuesday 25th June 2019 – Central Manchester

An early start to the day saw the Design Team head off to Manchester by train, promotional items in hand. A quick change at Manchester Piccadilly Street and the team had arrived.

Pacing through the buildings, the bold blue banners were an easy spot from a distance. Even through the morning drizzle, the Manchester Central Convention Complex had a summery feel as the building’s banners mimicked the afternoon blue skies the team were hoping for.

 Signing in

Confirmation email in hand, the team were guided to an attendant ready at check in. With bag checks at every entrance, alongside the rows of staff waiting to scan visitor badges, the impression that security and the safety of all visitors was at the forefront of the event was obvious.

 First Impressions

As with the outdoor banners, the Fortem hanging banner easily guided the team towards their latest masterpiece.

Wading through the crowds, it was clear that many designers had made every effort to make their clients exhibition stand out with some truly unique displays and games.

Laying their eyes on the Fortem stand for the first time in person, the vibrant colours and bold imagery worked well at catching passers-by attention in an otherwise dimly lit venue.

Promotional Items

Fortem had been fully kitted out with the finest quality promotional items, all created by our Design Studio. An assortment of pens, notepads, bags and bottles saw visitors diving across the stand to grab the remaining pieces on display.

Brochures and custom cut folders were scattered across the table tops and stands, stopping fellow exhibitors in their tracks to take a read at what the client had to offer.

There is a fine line between a booklet that gets filed under important information and one that becomes top of the recycling pile. By using custom cut shapes and thicker quality materials, these small touches can be the deciding factor for the booklets destination.

But how did we get to this point?

Planning for an event like this takes weeks of preparation. Understanding the location, the surroundings, lighting and footfall are all key factors in the perfect design.

Placing important information at the bottom of your banner, only to place a table in front can cause frustration to the reader when trying to find those details.

Using poorly contrasting colours in a dimly lit room causes viability problems for any person trying to understand your company and services.

The Design Studio have heaps of experience to ensure your designs are ready for any occasion. With the ability to take all concerns off your hands when it comes to the design, print and set up, you’ll have one less thing to worry about for the big day.
